I am a PhD candidate in Geological Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin. I was born and raised in Ankara, Turkey. I completed my undergraduate and Master’s education at Middle East Technical University with a degree in Environmental Engineering.
After graduating from Master’s, I moved to the US by awarded Fulbright Scholarship to pursue my doctoral research.
My research interests are groundwater flow - transport mechanisms, groundwater-surface water interactions and groundwater as a natural resource. I am particulary interested in high-latitude groundwater hydrology. My current focus is understanding groundwater flow and transport dynamics in the coastal permafrost regions in the Arctic.

I am currently working as a research assistant under the supervision of Prof. M. Bayani Cardenas.
